Where: Main Street of Takapau - Charlotte street

| This is a free community event in conjunction with Spring Fling.
Floats and parade starts on Charlotte Street at the south end opposite the old hotel. The parade will be led by the Napier Pipe Band.

Note: We are inviting community groups, businesses, schools, clubs, families, vintage vehicles, floats, horses, farm machinery and local organisations from: Takapau, Ashley Clinton, Ashcott, Oruawharo, Sherwood, Otawhao & Makaretu. Come dressed up, decorate your float, vehicle or group, and be part of this unforgettable community celebration.

 

Where: Takapau Memorial Sports Park (Rugby grounds)

Stalls open. There will be food and craft stalls.
Fun activities for all.
Historic static displays.

Walk down memory lane MAPPick up a map at the main gate and go for a stroll in your own time. The map will contain QR codes that you can scan for selected points around Takapau and this will give a run down of its history.

Horehore Pā Bus Trip & Hīkoi (This is a ticketed event – includes a light luncheon)

Where: Bus ride from Takapau Town Hall to Horehore  site

Hīkoi to the Summit:
(Side-by-side ATV transport will be available for those who require assistance.)
Kōrero at the summit, with descent at approximately 10.45am, arriving back to Takapau Town Hall

Light Luncheon:
Served from midday back at Takapau Town Hall
Catered by the Women’s Institute

Lunch Includes:
• Bread roll/Sandwiches
• Slice
• Fruit
• Tea & coffee

 

Time Capsule - This is a free community event
Where: The green patch opposite the Old Takapau Hotel

1pm
Join us as we place a beautifully crafted time capsule into the ground for future generations to discover.
The local schools will be involved in this special occasion, with all children participating in the event.
A commemorative tree planting and short service will also take place.
Limited seating will be available for those who require it.
